About George

George Seccombe has been teaching music for more than 15 years. His teaching goal is to help you discover and express your own unique musical voice, and provide you with the foundation you need to take your music in any direction that calls to you.

In addition to a full schedule of private students, he also assists two local elementary schools with their guitar programs, and has earned the trust and appreciation of their music program directors.

A full-time professional musician since the age of 19, he has experience in a broad variety of musical styles.

He played lead guitar for many years in classic rock and blues bands and country bands throughout the Northwest and British Columbia, and has shared the stage with country legends such as Little Jimmy Dickens and Freddie Fender.

George took lessons from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Nokie Edwards of the Ventures, and also studied jazz with Al Turay, a founding father of the Seattle jazz scene. His first teaching position was at Al’s studio.

George also enjoys classical guitar, and performed in Classical Guitar Master Classes with Christopher Parkening.

Rounding out his varied interests, George studied violin and played fiddle in a country band.

These days George concentrates his energies on teaching, and is one of the founding members of Alpine Music Studios, which opened in May of 2006, where he currently teaches full-time.

George is dedicated to life-long learning, and continues to study and deepen his knowledge of musical theory, practice and the best ways to share his knowledge with you.
